Leaving Kwajalein (Marshall Islands) was strangely saddening for me and for the group, I felt. It was a complete opposite experience from Honolulu but a better one in its own way.
There were probably more people staying at our hotel than make up th…

Fanaticos,
I want your thoughts on a number of things........will the U.S. get out of group play? How good is Fernando Pina of the U17 national team. He has played well in the Nike Friendlies and has shown great potential while some naive moments as well. But one thing for sure is that he is different...he distributes the ball differently as well.
He played for Texas Premier and the Dynamo Academy so he is a great local story!!!
I am working on getting under 17 coach Wilmer Cabrera on the progr…

Well, I can't tell you for sure if he'll be playing Monday (I don't know how many other goalies are on the team), but hopefully you caught Fernando Friday and Saturday night. He's the goalie on the U-17 team playing friendlies in Phoenix this weekend, they lost to Portugal, though they outplayed Portugal most of the game, and they tied Brazil last night 1-1. Fernando played really well and it's cool to hear the FSC commentators rave about him. He made some great saves, he distributes the ball ve…

Get some different coaching in a game playing environment with top college and youth coaches. Plus pick up a few tips from the "Peaceful Warrior" Craig Waibel and MLS…

2-1 win over Cinderella story Drake on Friday.
Alex is playing some of his best soccer ever down the stretch, it appears, and says he's the healthiest he's ever bee…

Greetings from Honolulu, everyone!
Well, usually this time of year I'm back in California spending time with my family and friends who I don't see much, but this year I had to postpone my trip home; I was offered the opportunity to work with Armed Forces Entertainment to join D.C. United players Marc Burch and Devon McTavish and teammate Bobby Boswell to tour the Pacific. Having a grandf…

You may have heard there's an expansion draft coming up on Wednesday where the Dynamo are likely to lose one player to next year's newest club, the Philadelphia Union. (If you think that's bad, wait 'til next year, with two teams coming in!) Anyway, teams had to submit their list of 11 protected players today, so here's ours:
Corey Ashe
Bobby Boswell
Geoff Cameron
Brian Ching
Brad Davis

The team that played the better soccer won last night at the MLS Cup final.
RSL were the better possession team and a better example than the LA game of direct soccer and literally hoping for Landon Donovan to make a play.
The real story that few are willing to admit is that David Beckham could not keep pace with Kyle Beckermann and ended up being a liability in midfield next to Jovan Kirovski when they did not have the ball. LA had no alternative purpose of play other than free kicks and the ho…
